How I Decorated my Christmas Tree…

I’m saying goodbye to November and hello to one of my other favorite months – December! I’ve had my trees up since mid-November, but had to follow the ethics of Thanksgiving and Christmas (aka no posting Christmas pics until after Thanksgiving has passed). Last year after Christmas I threw out my old tree and purchased two new trees because 1) my trees were hand me downs just to get through college, 2) I needed at least one TALL tree, and 3) I just needed two trees because why not. I made a promise to myself to not open the boxes until it was time to put out the decorations so that it would feel like Christmas morning a little early 🙂

With that being said, I found both of my trees on major sale at Wal-Mart. I purchased this 7.5 ft Classic Pine tree and this 6.5 ft Pre-Lit Madison Pine tree. The 7.5 ft Classic Pine tree is not pre-lit, but is very affordable considering how tall and full it is!

This year I decided to decorate with red, gold, silver, white, and specialty ornaments on the 7.5 ft tree that goes in my living room. I also added ribbon, feathers, and pom sprigs to give the tree some character. I purchased the specialty ornaments from Hobby Lobby and Asos (who knew!?) and the ribbon, feathers, and poms from Hobby Lobby.

For my kitchen/dining room 6.5 ft tree, I wanted to keep it “simple” with just red, silver, and white ornaments and decorations. I found a really cool string of large red poms and the red glittery sprigs from Hobby Lobby. The ornaments for this tree were purchased on Amazon.

Hobby Lobby usually runs a sale on Christmas decor for one month leading up to the holiday, so it’s a good idea to get some while it’s on sale! When I purchased my tree decor, everything was 50% off, which made me a very happy bargain shopper. 🙂
